Bossou is the divine bull of Vodou. He is a highly mighty, and aggressive lwa of tremendous strength, fertility, and sexuality, sometimes shown with three horns that represent Strength, Wildness, and Violence. He assists in the removal of the souls of the dead who have attached themselves to someone as a manifestation of materialist powers. Bossou is a great healer and guardian who can beat all of his opponents. He is frequently portrayed as a fire-breathing bodyguard and exorcist. He guards his people when they travel at night or on lengthy journeys, and he is summoned when extra protection is required. Bossou is portrayed as the Catholic Saint Jesus of Good Hope (Jesus of Good Hope).
