She is a goddess of knowledge and wisdom in her white avatar and a powerful deity in her red avatar. She is often shown as Manjushri's consort. In the Vajrabhairava and Yamari cycle of divine beings, Sarasvati has several vengeful manifestations that are unrelated to wisdom, creativity, or rhetoric.
