The Zoroastrian lamp is an important attribute of fire rituals in the Zoroastrian religion. Pregnant women are the ones who should light fires or lamps as a protective measure. Lamps, often filled with clarified butter (ghee), another purifying substance, are also lit as part of the navjote initiation ceremony.
