Enchanted Owl Inuit Symbols Adjustable Open Ring

Enchanted Owl Inuit Symbols Adjustable Open Ring

The Enchanted Owl is a mythical, as opposed to a realistic, depiction of an owl with long, fanciful feathers and appealing, simple outlines. It is wiped clean of all backgrounds. The piece exhibits compositional harmony, with the tail feathers nearly taking up the same amount of area as the bird's body. It is one of Canada's most well-known pieces of art. She used the animals and flowers of her surroundings as major sources of inspiration. The first printing came in two color options: 25 copies, each of red and black and green and black. The stone for The Enchanted Owl and several of Kinngait's other well-known prints were carved by Iyola Kingwatsiak.
