The Number 5 is one of the most important numbers in Zoroastrianism. The importance of the number 5 lies in the fact that it refers to 5 astronomical bodies that can be easily seen from Earth. These are the sun, moon, mercury, venus and mars.
The prophet Zarathustra often turned his attention to the heavenly bodies in his sermons and the religion of Zoroastrianism is closely connected with astrology. The religion is centered on the belief that the natural state of the universe should remain as it is without being changed by humans, and for this reason the stars and planets play a large role in Zoroastrian beliefs.
