The Two pillars are built at the front of Masonic lodges. The two pillars represent opposing pairings in Freemasonry. Masons are taught how to balance their inner ideas and their outside deeds. Boaz and Jachin, two pillars mentioned in the Bible, were located in Solomon's Temple's entryway. The left-hand pillar was Boaz, whose name means 'In Him is Strength,' and the right-hand pillar is Jakin, whose name means 'He Establishes.' It stands for the opposites of life and death. Masons consider death to be a need to put an end to things that are aging and decaying.
