The Warka Vase, also known as the Uruk vase, is a small, finely carved alabaster pitcher discovered in the temple complex of the Sumerian goddess Inanna in the ancient city of Uruk's ruins, now in the modern Iraqi province of Al Muthanna. The naturalistic elements of existence, such as water and plants like a date palm, barley, and wheat, are depicted in the bottom register. Rams and ewes alternately march in a single file across the top of the lowest register. Naked males bearing baskets of food as offerings are depicted in the middle register. Finally, the goddess Inanna is shown accepting a votive offering in the top register.
