The sculpture from ancient Mesopotamia described as the Ram in the thicket is a 'goat in a tree.' Impressive detail is used to depict the goat reaching up to eat leaves from top branches, which is a familiar scene along the banks of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. The sculpture's surface was embellished with hammered sheet gold, and it was constructed of wood.
