Captain Samuel Bellamy, often known as Black Sam, Bellamy, was an English sailor who became a pirate in the early 18th century. He is most remembered as the richest pirate in recorded history and one face of the Golden Age of Piracy. Black Sam's flag was a Jolly Roger, the renowned pirate insignia of a white skull atop two interlocking bones.
