Rosewater sprinkler Persian Symbols Adjustable Open Ring
The rosewater sprinkler was used along with other paraphernalia during Parsi ritual celebrations such as birthdays and navjote (coming of age) ceremonies.
The sprinkler contained rose water, symbolizing fragrance and happiness, and the stem bowls contained cinnabar and betel nut shavings, also for ritual purposes.
This set of four ritual paraphernalia belongs to a Parsi family now in the north of England and hailing from Bombay, India. The set is made of high quality and almost pure silver. Silver of this purity was required for items intended for use in Zoroastrian fire rituals.
